Engagement Party Bonanza

It was back to Cardiff again at the weekend, this time for the Engagement party of Patrick and Katie. Esther and I got the National Express over on the Saturday morning and after it broke down a couple of times, we stumbled into the Welsh Capital. We headed into town briefly first and I met up with Bone for a swift pint before a train over to Casa Murphy.

Pint No. 107

What? – Franciscan Well, Chieftain

Where? – O’Neills, Cardiff

When? – Saturday 7th April 2018

Despite our better judgement, we went into O’Neills the chain “Irish” bar. It was packed with stags, hens and morons but we got a pint nonetheless. I had a Chieftain IPA by Franciscan Well which can be seen on the left of the above picture. I felt that this was a really run of the mill IPA. Super inoffensive, but not very risky either. The James Milner of pints. Gets the job done quietly but effectively.

Overall Score: 3/5

After we’d had enough of listening to drunken cunts, we took the train over to Patrick’s to help us become drunken cunts.

Pint No. 108

What? – Corona

Where? – Patrick’s Gaff, Cardiff

When? – Saturday 7th April 2018

Amongst other things at Pad’s, I went through a bottle of Mexico’s finest. I never really know what to say about beers that are so easily obtainable you could probably find them in 168 countries in the world. Anyway, I had a Corona. Without the lime so it didn’t have that to add flavour. As basic beers go though, this is quite high up the list.

Overall Score: 2.5/5
