When I get involved in something, I like to go all the way and really commit my time to it. That’s why, without playing a single minute of a match for my new cricket team, I was going to pitch up to the AGM (Annual General Meeting). As this would no doubt result in meeting a load of new people, and the sun was shining beautifully in the sky, I thought a pint was in order first. Esther and I went up to The Green Man on Putney Heath which has an ace beer garden for a quick one before I had to head off to the pavilion. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, The Green Man is another Youngs pub which really limits me when it comes to being able to try something new.
Pint No. 119
What? – Birra Moretti
Where? – The Green Man, Putney
When? – Wednesday 18th April 2018
The only pint they had in there that I’d yet to have a go on was Birra Moretti, an Italian “premium” lager by Heineken. I honestly think that if you put a pint of this, along with a Peroni and half a dozen other “premium” lagers, I’d have no idea at all which was which. There is a real lack of flavour in the pint which I was disappointed with. It’s not an unpleasant drink, or something that I wouldn’t order again, it’s just so similar to a multitude of other drinks that it’s really difficult to find anything new to say about it.
Overall Score: 2/5.
